Moulin Rouge Wiki

"Children of the Revolution" is a song by the English glam rock band T. Rex. Released in September 1972, it peaked at #2 on the UK Singles Charts.

It was covered for the film by Bono, Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer and features on the first soundtrack. It features some changes to the original's lyrics.

It plays over the scene where the Bohemians are celebrating with the Moulin Rouge can-can dancers after the Duke agrees to sponsor the play Spectacular.

Lyrics[]

Well you can bump and grind
If it's good for your mind
Well you can twist and shout

But you won't fool the
Children of the revolution
No you won't fool the
Children of the revolution
No no

Well you can tear a plane
In the falling rain
I drive a Rolls Royce
'Cause it's good for my voice

But you won't fool the
Children of the revolution
No you won't fool the
Children of the revolution
No no

La de da
La de da de da da da
La de da
La de da de da de da da da
La de da
La de da de da da da da
La de da
La de da

You won't fool the
Children of the revolution
No you won't fool the
Children of the revolution
No you won't fool the
Children of the revolution
No you won't fool
No no, baby
You won't fool the children
No no you can tie
The photographic tight
You won't make it alive

Oh la de da
La de da
La de da de da da da
La de da
